BAGHDAD — The American University of Iraq – Baghdad and Mirmaz Academy, which the university describes as a leading digital education platform in Iraq, signed a strategic cooperation agreement on campus, the university reported on September 27, 2026.
The agreement was signed by AUIB's president, Dr. Bradley Cook, and Mustafa Hameed, Mirmaz Academy's founder and chief executive. It brings the university's seven colleges and its Center of Excellence for Innovation and Development together with the academy's learning community.
Under the agreement, academy learners gain routes into AUIB's degree programs and its professional development and continuing education courses; distinguished academy students can receive partial scholarships; and specialized programs will strengthen English and communication and leadership skills. Joint events on campus will introduce academy students to the university.
Dr. Cook called it "a big day" for both institutions and said the "very powerful combination" of their roles and reach would help extend quality education across the country. Hameed said the partnership would help raise standards in Iraqi education and open places at AUIB each year for qualified students from the academy's community.
